1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Leato ("the App"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Leato ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

Leato is a mobile application that provides:

• Access to a curated library of international recipes from various cuisines.
• An AI-powered Chef assistant for cooking guidance and queries.
• A gamified experience including badges, leaderboards, and achievements.
• A Premium subscription ("Leato Pro") with additional features.
• Integration with third-party grocery delivery services.

3. Eligibility & Age

Leato is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 18, you should use the App only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If you are in India, note that our Privacy Policy applies additional protections for users under 18 in line with the DPDP Act, 2023.

4. User Accounts

To use Leato, you must create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activities that occur under your account.
• Providing accurate and up-to-date account information.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Leato offers an optional Premium subscription, Leato Pro, in weekly and monthly plans. Current prices, plan details, and any applicable taxes are shown in the App in your local currency before you complete a purchase.

All premium subscriptions are processed securely through the Google Play Store. Optional donations are processed securely through Razorpay (in India) or the Google Play Store (for users elsewhere). By subscribing or donating, you authorize Leato or its payment partners to charge the applicable fees to your selected payment method. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

All content within Leato — including but not limited to recipes, text, images, UI designs, badges, and the AI Chef — is the intellectual property of Leato and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from the App without prior written consent.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
• Use Leato's branding, logo, or name for any commercial purpose.

7. User Conduct

When using Leato, you agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its infrastructure.
• Upload or share any harmful, offensive, or misleading content.
• Abuse, exploit, or circumvent the AI Chef, XP, or leaderboard systems.
• Create multiple accounts to exploit referrals, free trials, or promotions.

8. Virtual Items (XP, Badges & Leaderboards)

XP, badges, streaks, and rankings are virtual features of the App. They have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred, redeemed, or exchanged. We may adjust points, badge rules, or leaderboard behaviour as the App evolves. The Leaderboard may include simulated competitor entries alongside real users to ensure a consistent experience.

9. AI-Generated Content

Leato includes an AI Chef powered by Google Generative AI (Gemini). AI-generated content is for informational and entertainment purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI responses. Always exercise judgement when following cooking instructions, especially regarding allergens, dietary restrictions, and food safety.

10. Third-Party Services

Leato may include links to or integrations with third-party services (e.g. grocery delivery platforms, payment providers). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these services. Your use of them is subject to their respective terms and conditions.

11. Disclaimers

The Leato App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leato shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including cooking accidents, allergic reactions, or food-safety issues. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
